Jijil is for teasing people you actually know. There's no public feed, no ads and no tracking, and nobody can find you unless they already know your username. This page says exactly what we keep and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes. We never show it to anyone.
- Your name and username, which people in your circle see.
- That you said you're 13 or older, and when.
- The photos and videos you send, with their captions. Only you and the people you sent them to can open them.
- Your reactions: which reaction you picked and how intense it was over time, so it can be replayed. Only the sender and other recipients of that Jijil see it.
- Your circle: who you've asked, who's accepted, and who you've blocked.
- Reports you file, with the reason and any note you add.
The app doesn't use analytics or advertising SDKs, doesn't collect your location or contacts, and doesn't record your camera or microphone except when you choose to take a photo or video to send.
Who can see what
People can see your name and username only once you share a connection or a Jijil with them, or after they ask to join your circle by typing your exact username. Jijils go only to people in your circle, and both sides have to agree first. Blocking someone removes the connection, and you each stop seeing the other.
Who we use to run Jijil
- Supabase stores the database and media (United States).
- Resend delivers sign-in emails.
- Vercel and Cloudflare serve this website and its domain.
They process data only to provide those services to us. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
Deleting things
- Delete your account any time in the app under Me → Delete account. Your profile, circle, Jijils, media, reactions and blocks are deleted straight away. Encrypted database backups age out within 7 days.
- Or email support@jijil.app from the address you sign in with, and we'll delete it for you.
- If you joined the waitlist and want off it, email us and we'll remove you.
Kids and teens
Jijil is for people 13 and older. If we learn that someone younger has an account, we delete it. If you're a parent and think your child under 13 signed up, email us.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@jijil.app and we'll answer within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
